| I am thinking along the lines of the stock pressure transducer which is probably 0-5V with an 8bit A/D converter. Nothing special but say it has a range of 0-150psi we still have pretty good resolution of around 1/2 psi. I can't see an application on our cars for more than 8bits. Accelerometers I don't know anything about but a quick search shows they are more expensive at around $200+. The reason why I am so interested in all this is because some tuning software (NIStune) interfaces with a cheap ($30) 8bit USB DAQ converter so I was wondering what the disadvantages of this compared to an expensive setup are (The PC is an expensive piece of machinery too I guess). RPM and Oil Pressure could be monitored by the consult interface so only the Accelerometer is needed.
